Do you want to have beautiful soft lips?
Soft lips look beautiful. More than that, moisturized lips mean they are healthy. However, it is not easy to have nor maintain beautiful soft lips. Chapped lips are dry and cracked lips. They can actually be painful. Many factors cause dry lips such as weather conditions, medication, dehydration, and some medical conditions.
Chapped lips don’t only happen in the winter. If you don’t take good care of your lips, they can become dry, sore and scaly any time of the year. Lips don’t have oil glands so they are almost always exposed to elements that can cause dryness. There are some measures you can take to avoid chapped lips.
1. Keep your body hydrated. Dehydration leads to chapped lips. Drink lots of water to avoid dry lips.
2. When indoors, use a humidifier to provide the moisture your lips and skin need.
3. Don’t lick your lips. When your saliva dries, it takes moisture from your lips, thus leading to dryness.
4. On a cold day, protect your lips when you go outside by wearing a scarf or a ski mask that covers your mouth.
5. Never peel or bite flaky lips. The skin on the lips is thin and delicate. Peeling, picking at it biting can cause bleeding that might lead to irritation.
6. Use a straw when drinking dehydrating drinks like coffee or alcohol.
7. Use a lip balm to moisturize your lips. Most lip balms can lock in moisture, seal off cracks and splits in drying lips.
Even though there are many products designed to moisturize and heal the lips, some of them may have harsh ingredients or chemicals than harm our lips and our body. Natural options such as essential oils work best for the lips.
Peppermint essential oil is perfect for chapped lips because of its cooling and refreshing properties. It also stimulates circulation that can really nourish the lips. Peppermint essential oil has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that can help in treating dry and chapped lips.
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a small container, mix 5 drops of peppermint essential oil and 1 teaspoon of aloe vera oil.

2. Using your finger, apply the oil blend on your lips. Reapply when needed.

Using peppermint essential oil on the lips can also get rid off signs of aging on the lips and soften their complexion. Regular use of this oil blend can keep your lips moisturized and healthy. You don’t have to put up with dry, chapped lips when you have peppermint essential oil.
